According to the prophecy of St. Malachy, Petrus Romanus has arrived. Pope Francis I, formerly known as Jorge Mario Bergoglio, was the son of an Italian railroad worker from Turin, Italy. While those of shallow vision will be quick to point out “his name is not Peter,” prophecy is often fulfilled enigmatically in a manner not entirely clear until it is resolved. For example, who could have known that “labor of the sun” John Paul II would be buried during eclipse until his papacy had ended? We have stated from the beginning that the title “Peter the Roman” was likely symbolic. All popes claim apostolic succession from Peter and for this reason it is called the Petrine office. For instance, Tom Horn stated in a recent interview for World Net Daily:
Regardless, Horn said he’s always maintained that it doesn’t take someone whose Christian name is Peter to fulfill the prophecy. “In fact, if any Italian is elected, that would be a fairly transparent fulfillment,” he said. Moreover, he argued, “in a very general sense, every pope could be regarded as ‘Peter the Roman,’ and in that sense, this could be the last one.”[1]
Rome was an empire and a city so his Italian ancestry arguably meets the Roman aspect albeit in an oblique way. Interestingly, Rene Thibaut, the Jesuit who wrote in 1950 that the papacy would be abdicated in 2012, rejected the possibility of a pope named Peter and wrote that the name symbolized the totality of the papacy:
There is only one Peter, the first of the Roman pontiffs, and he was seen in his many successors. He still to serve in the final as in the first persecution. We believe Petrus Romanus represents all the Roman Pontiffs from St. Peter to the recipient Gloria Olivae.[2]
In Thibaut’s reckoning all the ambitions and pretensions of the papal dynasty are now encompassed in one man. Paramount is the fact that he is the first ever Jesuit pope. This has great prophetic significance as the Jesuit order was formed to specifically to combat the protestant reformation and assert papal supremacy over the entire world. According to a historian, “The Jesuits were the soldiers of the pope: they knew no law but the will of their general, no mode of worship but the pope’s dictate no church but themselves.” [3] Because of this, the Jesuit order was suppressed and disbanded for its pernicious skullduggery by Pope Clement XIV in 1773 and by the mid-eighteenth century, the Jesuits had earned a bad reputation in Europe for political maneuvering and economic exploitation bar none. Interestingly, Pope Benedict XVI addressed the Jesuit order in 2008 encouraging them reinvigorate the fourth vow. He said,
For this very reason I have invited you and also invite you today to reflect in order to rediscover the fullest meaning of your characteristic “fourth vow” of obedience to the Successor of Peter, …[4]
The fourth vow of obedience to the pope is one of “absolute subservience to the pope; to do whatever he enjoined, and go on any service he wished, and into any quarter of the globe.”[5] A few ex-Jesuits have called this a blood oath involving pagan rites which were laid bare in the suppressed document “Jesuit Extreme Oath of Induction” which was recorded in records of the U.S. Congress. According to this document, they are indoctrinated into the principle of IUSTUM, NECAR, REGES, IMPIOUS:
When a Jesuit of the minor rank is to be elevated to command, he is conducted into the Chapel of the Convent of the Order, where there are only three others present, the principal or Superior standing in front of the altar. On either side stands a monk, one of whom holds a banner of yellow and white, which are the Papal colours, and the other a black banner with a dagger and red cross above a skull and crossbones, with the word INRI, and below them the words IUSTUM NECAR REGES IMPIUS. The meaning of which is: It is just to exterminate or annihilate impious or heretical Kings, Governments, or Rulers.[6]

The Military Order of Malta has about 12.500 members (excluding volunteers), and Opus Dei has about 26,000 celibate members (excluding volunteers).

In Petrus Romanus we stated our belief that the name “Peter the Roman” implies this pope “will reaffirm the authority of the Roman Pontiff over the Church” and “will emphasize the supremacy of the Roman Catholic Faith and the Roman Catholic Church above all other religions and denominations, and its authority over all Christians and all peoples of the world.”[8] This seems in line with the Jesuit agenda. Still more, Catholic mystic Ronald L. Conte Jr., who predicted in 2002 that the successor to John Paul II would choose the name Benedict XVI, commented on 3-13-13:
I never expected Peter the Roman to be Italian or Roman or to have the first name Peter, or to take the papal name “Peter”. So these points do not imply that Pope Francis is not Peter the Roman. The prophetic phrases of St. Malachy describe the Pontificate of each Pope, not his name.[9]
According to Conte, “During the reign of Pope Peter the Roman, the great apostasy begins” and this pope will mark “the first part of the tribulation, during our generation.”[10]
The media and Catholic faithful have been celebrating his choice of the papal name Francis, which is a first, and most folks assume it is inspired by St. Francis of Assisi. Interestingly, in Petrus Romanus we wrote of an apocalyptic prophecy given by the alleged namesake:
Even Saint Francis of Assisi—one of the most venerated religious figures in history—gathered his devotees shortly before his death and prophesied that: “At the time of this tribulation a man, not canonically elected, will be raised to the Pontificate, who, by his cunning, will endeavor to draw many into error and death… Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it under foot and deny it…for in those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a destroyer.”[11]
Was there something uncannonical about the election of Pope Francis I? It seems arguable. For starters, Pope Benedict XVI simply retiring makes for an unprecedented situation. Next, the fifteen day rule between the vacancy of the office and the start of the conclave was circumvented in order to speed up the process. The two living popes situation alone supports a charge of one “not canonically elected” but more mysteriously, there seems to be something fishy going on with his heraldry. According to one expert, “As can be seen on the coat of arms, he was not a bishop, despite being cardinal.”[12] This was Cardinal Bergoglio’s coat of arms as of 2010:

It uses the Jesuit Solar deity symbol, The Jesuits maintian that IHS stands for first three letters of the Greek name of Jesus, iota-eta-sigma but if so the name is Ἰησοῦς so why not use the Greek letters Ι Η Σ ? However, even though his coat of arms (dated 2001) lacked the required cross, we know that he was in fact a bishop prior to 2001. Bergoglio was named Auxiliary Bishop of Buenos Aires in 1992 and was ordained on 27 June 1992 as Titular Bishop of Auca.[13] This is extremely odd and has prompted heraldic specialists to assert ineptitude on the part of its designer.[14] It suggests something is amiss. Could the strange rule bending circumstances surrounding Pope Benedict XVI’s retirement suggest he is the uncannonical pope that St. Francis prophesied? (it looks the this malformed coat of arms has been quickly revised, so copy those images for safekeeping).

Apocalyptic Franciscan prophecies and heraldic guffaws aside, many have overlooked another Catholic Saint he could have drawn the papal name from: St. Francis Xavier, a fellow Jesuit infamous for inspiring the Goa inquisition. This extended the European inquisition to the Indian state of Goa and the Portuguese empire in Asia, a repugnant affair in which some 16,202 persons were brought to trial resulting in untold numbers of executions by burning at the stake amongst lesser tortures.[15]
While we don’t normally put a lot of stock in numerology, the great biblical scholar and Anglican theologian E.W. Bullinger wrote an exhaustive treatise in the 19th century which has yielded some interesting connections to the new Pontiff. The numbers surrounding Pope Francis’ election keep coming up thirteen. White smoke at 7:06 PM which in numerology 7 + 6 = 13 and he is 76 years old 7 + 6 = 13 and then he was elected on the calendar date 3/13/13 which sports two 13s of its own but in numerology 3/13/2013 also yields 3+1+3+2+0+1+3=13 and he was announced at precisely 8:13 PM Vatican time or in military and European time 20:13 making for 3/13/2013 at 20:13. According to Bullinger:
As to the significance of thirteen, all are aware that it has come down to us as a number of ill-omen. Many superstitions cluster around it, and various explanations are current concerning them.
Unfortunately, those who go backwards to find a reason seldom go back far enough. The popular explanations do not, so far as we are aware, go further back than the Apostles. But we must go back to the first occurrence of the number thirteen in order to discover the key to its significance. It occurs first in Genesis 14:4, where we read “Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and the thirteenth year they REBELLED.”
Hence every occurrence of the number thirteen, and likewise of every multiple of it, stamps that with which it stands in connection with rebellion, apostasy, defection, corruption, disintegration, revolution, or some kindred idea.[16]
This ill omen suggests the “many tribulations” of the Malachy prophecy could coincide with the apostasy of 2 Thes. 2:3 but Bullinger goes on to cite an exhaustive list of thirteens and factors of thirteen including examples like:
Satan, in Hebrew = 364 (13 x 28) שָׂטָן
Satan, in Greek = 2197 (133) “That old serpent, even Satan” (ὁ ὄφις ὁ ἀρχαῖος… καὶ ὁ Σατανᾶς) 2756 (13 x 212)
“According to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air” = 9178181 (13 x 706)
“The power of the air” = 2600 (13 x 200) [17]
While we could go on and on (Bullinger does) with a long list of similar demonic thirteens, one verse in particular is pertinent:
Revelation 13:11, The whole verse = 6318 (13x486)
θηρίον (theerion), beast = 247 (13x19)
ἅλλο θηρίον (hallo theerion), another beast = 378 (9×42)
“He had two horns” = 1521 (132x9)
“And he had two horns like a lamb” = 2704 (132x16) [18]
“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” (Revelation 13:11, AV)
Do all of these thirteens add up to a coincidence? That’s up to you decide. But the biblical prophecy alone points toward the papacy. Indeed this second beast is predicted to be viewed “like a lamb” and the accolades expressed on 3/13/2013 at 20:13 support that perception. This probably seems mean spirited to some but as protestants we feel well within our rights to assert that all claimants to Vicar “instead ”of Christ as false prophets.[19] However, if the predictions of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Malachy are truly at their culmination, then the second beast, the one from the earth, who is called the “false prophet” (Rev. 16:13; 19:20; 20:10) or Petrus Romanus who will lead the world to worship the dragon, has arrived in Pope Francis but I am not a prophet… only time will tell.

I just got my copy of Petrus Romanus on Monday and ripped through it. I watched the election of Pope Francis I today and wondered why Francis and not Petrus Romanus? Its clear enough to me that Malachy was indicating the Popes character or affiliation to a specific Order or doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. I had yet to get to that enormous volume of FREE material on the CD and at 1:00 AM while skimming through it I discovered an eerie quote in “The Siri Thesis” of Dr. William von Peters – August 28, 2005. where St. Francis of Assisi is being quoted in
“The Conclusion
Shortly before his death St. Francis of Assisi gathered his followers together to warn them of coming troubles. These prophecies are taken from the Works of the Seraphic Father St. Francis Of Assisi, Washbourne, 1882, pp. 248-250:
“1. The time is fast approaching in which there will be great trials and afflictions; perplexities and dissensions, both spiritual and temporal, will abound; the charity of many will grow cold, and the malice of the wicked will increase.
“2. The devils will have unusual power, the immaculate purity of our Order [Franciscans], and of others, will be so much obscured that there will be very few Christians who will obey the true Sovereign Pontiff and the Roman Church with loyal hearts and perfect charity. Well they better hurry up – because if End Times Prophecy isnt fulfilled by 2018? the Judeo-Christian era of credibility is OVER. As Flynn and others have rightly said- the measuring stick is that the SAME generation as those who witness the FOUNDING of the STATE of ISRAEL (no, NOT the reunification of Israel in 1967 as some trying to buy time suggest. Nor measured from the time of Israel’s seizure of Golan in 1973 etc) but the founding in 1948 “will see the Second Coming” and all these other things come to pass. The interpreters have already arbitrarily elongated the span of a generation to try to jiggle the prophecy and give it more time- (from 40 to 70 yrs). Anymore wiggling and the prophecy is just wrong. And if its wrong? Revelations and all the rest are hoaxes. Its either now, or never. If the prophecy was truly Divine, they’d be unjiggable anyway, right?

“Then he said to me, ‘Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel. As God says, the bones in Ezekiel 37 represent the people of Israel – otherwise known as the Jews.
Following the first century Roman conquest of the Holy Land, the Jews were banished from the land of Israel. The Romans renamed the area Palestine, and exiled its people to farthest corners of the Roman Empire.
Yet, in Ezekiel 37, God promised to bring the Jews out of exile. He promised to bring them back into the land of Israel.
Not only did He promise to restore their nation, but God promised to do so by opening their “graves” at a time when the Jews feel that “all hope is gone.”
The aftermath of Hitler’s Holocaust of the Jewish people created these very conditions, nearly destroying an entire race of people and draining the hope of countless survivors.
But out of the Holocaust, God brought the Jewish people back into the land of Israel, just as He had promised.
On May 14, 1948, the nation of Israel reappeared in fulfillment of not just Ezekiel 37:11-13, but countless Old Testament prophecies.

Joseph Michael, you cannot give me chapter and verse that specifically says what you just claimed is fulfillment of prophecy.. All you can do is twist Scriptures from Isaiah 11 and 26 and others that don’t even apply to Jews/Israel today, because, for one, certain conditions of said prophecies are not met. Old Testament scriptures and prophecies concerning Israel emphasized God’s desire for His people to “rend their hearts, not their garments”. If Jews want to fulfill Biblical prophecy they will say “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” and be grafted in again through faith in Jesus Christ.

Christians are true Israel!! Not the Jews. If one is a Jew, he/she is not a Christian. When we receive Christ as the Messiah, we take on His name. As Paul said, “not all who are descended from Israel are Israel…it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abrahams’s offspring.” (Romans 9) True Israel is those who have put their trust in Jesus Christ.
Of course end times events have to do with Israel, the nation state. It is part of Satan’s plan to destroy the Jews, God’s original people, through the deception of giving them their own land, which Christ does not support. Tell me one time Jesus approved of the agenda of the Jews of His day?? They wanted a king to establish a kingdom of global dominance and so they did not receive Him. Furthermore, possession of the land was always contingent upon Israel’s obedience and faithfulness to God. This stipulation is not being met in that Israel, as a nation state, has not turned to Christ for salvation. This means that the occupation of the land of Israel by the Jews is 1. not fulfillment of any Old Testament prophecy and 2. is irrelevant, considering Jesus never upheld any talk regarding a temporal piece of land for the Jews, especially not for such a rebellious people. His central message to the Jews was: “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” He also said that the meek will inherit the earth. Israel today is not meek, nor are all the nations of the world blessed through her political policies which draw nations, especially America, into war. True Israel, the Church, is now to be the blessing to the world because we are ambassadors of the King of kings and the only one who gives eternal life.

Also, the angel, several times, in his communications with Daniel says that he is showing him the future of “thy people” Almost everyone says that this is referring to the Jews, because Daniel WAS a Jew. As Israelis mark their annual Independence Day, many Christians view this occasion as reason to celebrate the faithfulness of God. Yet much of the Christian world still struggles with the theological significance of Israel’s stunning re-emergence as a nation on May 14, 1948.
Six and a half decades later, some churches are slowly coming to terms with the extensive biblical credentials behind the promised ‘restoration of Israel, while others still cling to antiquated doctrines about the Jews being cursed to endless wandering!
Martin Luther was once asked whether the Jews of his time were still children of Abraham. His answer: “If the Jews are Abraham’s descendants, then we would expect them to be back in their own land? But do we see that? We see them living scattered and despised!!!”
So what would Luther do with today’s reality of over 5.5 million Jews now living back in their national homeland? If it is not part of a promised restoration, is it a political accident or fluke of history?
FIRST and foremost, the modern-day Jewish return to the land of their fathers is testimony to the faithfulness of a covenant-keeping God. In Genesis, the Patriarch Abraham was promised not only a ‘seed’ to bless the whole earth, but also the physical land of Israel as an ‘everlasting possession’ for his natural descendants. Thus both the land and people of Israel were chosen for the purpose of world redemption, and to strip away either one undercuts the whole redemptive plan. Though the Lord has exiled the Israelites from the land for appointed seasons as a corrective measure, their underlying title deed remains intact and He has sworn to deliver the entire land to them one day in abiding rest and peace! This is vouched for in both the Mosaic and Davidic covenants!
We must realize that every prophetic utterance fits within the terms and conditions of the covenants already established with Israel. God is not a man that He should lie or change His mind about a sworn oath!
Thus the words of warning and doom flowed from the prophets’ anguish that Israel was in breach of the conditions God placed on their right to actually reside in the land given to them. Yet their accompanying poetic joy was in realization that God nevertheless was duty bound to return them to the land again one day because of His solemn oath to Abraham, and confirmed to David as a reward!
For in order to eventually wind up back in the land permanently, the cycle must go ‘scatter and return’, not ‘return and then scatter.’ Thus at nearly every point that the prophets speak of exilic judgment, they also sound the hope of return!
“‘For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will gather you,'” the Lord says through Isaiah. “‘In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment: But with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you says the Lord your Redeemer.” (Isaiah 54:7-8)
EVEN SO, some Christians contend that the two prophesied Jewish exiles and returns were completed in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah and that Old Testament promises of an end-day ingathering and exaltation of Israel in her land were fulfilled in the birth and ‘triumph’ of the Church! In challenging Christians who have seen the light of God’s TRUTH, they argue that the New Testament is basically ‘silent’ regarding the ‘land’, and thus Christians have a scant biblical basis to support the secular State of Israel in the face of Palestinian suffering. To them, the events of May 1948 were undoubtedly a nakba (Arabic for ‘disaster’)!!!
Yet there are numerous clear references to the land in the New Testament! Most importantly, every mention of the covenants or “promises made to the fathers,” meaning the Patriarchs, necessarily includes the land! It is not implied or inferred! It is intrinsic! Since the land is subsumed or embedded into the terms of the covenants due to its central role in furthering the redemptive plan!
In Romans 15:8, the Apostle Paul says that Jesus came “to confirm the promises made to the fathers.” Then in Hebrews 6, Paul urges New Testament believers to take “strong encouragement” that God will keep His promises to us by observing His faithfulness to the Abrahamic covenant. His ‘immutable’ name and character are at stake, Paul insists, and thus if the Almighty is not able to bring the Jews to their promised destiny back in the land in the fullness of time, we cannot trust Him either.
In addition, New Testament writers and figures, including Jesus, repeatedly invoked the Jewish hope of a future ‘restoration’ in the land, a widely held concept drawn from numerous promises in Scripture about restoring the ‘fortunes’ (or ‘captivity’) of Jacob/Israel [See for example, Psalm 14:7; 77:7; 85:1; 106; 126:1; Jeremiah 30:18; 33:25-26; Ezekiel 39:25; Hosea 6:11; Joel 3:1]. This Jewish hope in liberation from Roman rule and ‘restoration’ of the Davidic kingdom was so prevalent in those days that the words “for the redemption of Zion” or “the freedom of Zion” were even imprinted on many Judean coins in the First Century.
It was these times of favor or ‘restoration’ for Israel that are alluded to in Acts 1:6-7, when Jesus tells his disciples not to be so concerned with the nation’s fate at that moment, but instead concentrate on preaching the Gospel to all men.
And yet, the Apostle Peter is able to stand in that same Jerusalem not many days hence and boldly declare that the “times of restoration of all things” spoken of “by the mouth of His holy prophets” will indeed come before Messiah returns (Acts 3:21). In so doing, we see that Peter’s preaching included a marked hope in that future time of favor and final ingathering for Israel which we are now seeing come to pass!
Paul as well is quite clear about this future time of ingathering and recovery for Israel in Romans 11.
Isaiah 66:8 ponders, “Can a country be brought forth in one day? YES! May 14th 1948! Shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.” The modern-day restoration of Israel indeed has proven painful thus far for many – Jews and Arabs – and more has yet to be birthed. But the reappearance of a sovereign Jewish nation in their ancient homeland on that momentous day in 1948 is truly a cause for Christians to rejoice in a faithful God!!!!!!!

It seems like just about everyone is claiming the inheritance promised to Israel. But what does God say? Has Israel been rejected because of her disloyalty, to be replaced by the Church or some other group?

Why does Israel serve a future purpose in God’s plan, after what she’s done in the past?

I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I show myself holy through you before their eyes. (Ezekiel 36:22-23)
Will the Lord bring His people back to the land He promised them?
I will bring back my exiled people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant Israel in their own land, NEVER AGAIN to be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the LORD your God. (Amos 9:14-15)
This regathering began 62 years ago. One day soon the Lord will reveal Himself to Israel by destroying a huge Moslem force arrayed against them. Then He’ll complete the regathering, not leaving any behind (Ezekiel 39:22). He’ll protect those who are His through the End Times judgments (Jere. 30:11) and open their eyes to finally recognize that Jesus is their Messiah (Zechariah 12:10) before the 2nd Coming.
Will Israel once again be the pre-imminent nation on Earth?
This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders. Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” (Isaiah 49:22-23)
The Muslims say that the tree will cry out, “There is a Jew hiding behind me, kill him.” BUT What role will the rocks and the trees really play in this? Speaking to Israel God said,
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12)
So once again we see the contrast between man’s view and God’s view.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
Think about it. How can we believe that God will keep all His promises to us, while at the same time believing that he broke all His promises to Israel? Sure, they don’t deserve His loyalty, but then again, what makes us think that we do?
God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19)
The answer is obviously no, and that’s a good thing, because we’re betting our eternal destiny on His trustworthiness. Watching Him perform on His promises to Israel gives us great comfort, because by the time we know for sure that He’s going to perform on His promises to us, it’ll be too late for us to do anything about it. But He will do all that He has promised, and that includes having those who didn’t take Him at His word where Israel is concerned come and fall at thier feet and acknowledge that He has loved them! Yes, Joseph Michael, we are Gentiles grafted in, but Paul makes it clear that the Jews have been cut out and can only be grafted in again through faith in Jesus Christ. So, that means that Jews who continue to reject Christ are not children of the promise or true Israel. Only Jews who forsake their Jewishness in terms of their national and racial pride and take on the name of Christ are considered Israel. And Gentiles, who have been grafted in through faith, are now also children of the promise, because it was always God’s intentions to save the whole world and make any and all those who put their trust in His Son, His children and co-heirs with His Son. So no the Jews as they stand now, apart from faith in Christ, do not get the benefits of any Old or New Testament prophecies and promises. The “forever” you are referring to only applies to true Israel which includes grafted in Gentiles, for we will reside in the new heaven and the new earth and the New Jerusalem, which will take the place of the temporal land promised to the faithful. And like sandy said, if you can’t get this then you are either very deceived or you’re a Zionist shill suffering from strong delusions from the distorting of Scripture.

You make some very good points here, Cris. It may well be that Bergoglio will become Petrus Romanus in the sense of growing (or “evolving”) into the role. As I was reading his bio, the words from Revelation concerning how the False Prophet will appear as a lamb but speak as a dragon immediately came to mind. Bergoglio is presented as being cut from the same sort of humble cloth as John Paul II, but all signs are that he is poised to reassert the “authority” of the church in a big way.

Good observation. The announcement then, if I read you correctly, indicates three possibilities:
(a) the humble Pope Francis I is surrounded by somewhere in the chain of powers that intend to usurp a positive polarity of his office and project a negative polarity in it’s place (polarity meaning, as defined in “Law of One”) or

(c) random chance — prophetic

Well, as a Bible believing Christian, I do not set a lot of store on non-scripture.
Having said that, our first sight of this gentleman, he certainly has the appearance of a lamb, doesn’t he? And, he’s been very much a champion of a number of things that Bible believing Christian would surely endorse: he’s against abortion, against euthanasia, against homosexual marriage. His choice toward humility and poverty, are very attractive; disarming even when contrasted with the usual pompous grandeur of the Roman church.
On the other hand, he IS a Jesuit. Anyone familiar with their history knows their founding purposes were to combat Reformation theology, to fight against the word of God being given directly to the people and to seek the supremacy of the Pontiff and the Roman church over all peoples of the earth. I understand that Ignatius Loyola had great devotion to Mary, in reality, the Babylonian goddess Astarte or Ishtar.
I understand one of the new pope’s first visits was to a shrine in Rome to pray before an icon or statue of Mary.
It’s early days. He looks much like a lamb, and we shall see as time goes along, whether he speaks as a dragon.
The first allusion of his chosen name, for me and other people, was to Francis of Assisi. CRIS, another interesting thing about his coat of arms is that object at the top — I’m sure it is supposed to be a hat, but it also eerily resembles some of the UFOs sighted in the past. In light of the information soon to be revealed in Exo-Vaticana, perhaps this has meaning as well?
Isaiah prophesied that the name of the Messiah will be “Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). But in the fulfillment of the prophecy, the name of the Messiah is “Yeshua/Yehoshua/Jesus”. People who expects/demands that prophecies must always be fulfilled literally word for word, will be disappointed and even missed the true fulfillment event of the prophecies.
Most christians I know believe that we’re living in the end time. However, in the back of their mind, most people can’t/won’t really accept that the fulfillment of the end time prophecies are happenning and unraveling in their lifetime in front of their eyes. There’s a seed of unbelieve that makes them suspicious or even cynical about anything related to the end time prophecies. I’m not saying that this “Petrus Romanus” prophecy is a sure bet, but I recommend everyone to heed Paul’s advice: “Test all things; hold fast what is good” (1Thes 5:21).
As for the relationship between “Petrus Romanus” with “Francis”, some people have come to a logical explanation with the fact that “Francis de Assisi” was born “Francesco di Pietro di Bernardone” and was an Italian/Roman, and it’s not a stretch to call “Pietro di Bernardone” as “Pietro di Romano” or “Peter the Roman” or “Petrus Romanus”. So it’s not a far-fetched to see a link between “Francis” and “Petrus Romanus”. Whether the link is strong or weak, I’ll let you be the judge, but in my opinion it’s a logical link.
There are some peculiar/extraordinary/unusual/unforseen major events happening lately related to the papacy and end time prophecies:
1. Pope Benedict XVI resigned (almost never happened in 600 years)

3. Between 4-10 March, 4 asteroids buzz the earth in single week (http://www.space.com/20149-asteroids-buzz-earth-week.html). Are these “great signs from heavens” as warned in “Luke 21:11″…?

6. Vatican and Israel reach historic deal on Last Supper Site that will give the Pope an official seat on Mount Zion in Jerusalem (http://www.israelhayom.com/site/newsletter_article.php?id=7230). Cris and Tom have predicted this in their book.

The ten horns are ten regional blocs that will “devour the WHOLE earth”. This will make up the coming One World State (RV 13:7; 17:12-13) The Club Of Rome produced a publication in 1973 calling for a global government comprising of ten regional blocs. Recent news articles exist positing such a development. National and regional currencies will die, but the ten region model will remain intact. To me, that speaks Volumes because up till that moment I had known nothing about the Pope, Vatican , the Ministry that God gave to Tom (over 40 years people!) in which he was tested, put through Fire ( unlike most of the naysayers posting here whom wouldnt have a clue about how the Lord prepares one for Ministry & tests you by Fire even to the point where that person feels like Giving up, walking away or convincing themselves they must be losing their mind . AGAIN none of the Naysayers here have EVER experienced that & certainly not after 40 years of walking that same Path) knowing that at some point, God would bring the Truths He delivered & sealed in Tom TO PASS!!

As mentioned in your article, there is the very real possibility, I would say likelyhood of the chosen name of Francis being derived not from Francis of Assissi, but rather Francis Xavier, a Jesuit himself and the initiator of the inquisition of Goa. Of course the name Francis Xavier is famous for another reason. Saint Malachy was born in Amagh Ireland in 1094, he lived a religious life as a monk, then he was ordained priest and finally Bishop. He was canonized in 1199 by Pope Clement III. St. Malachy made a pilgrimage to Rome and during the years 1139 – 1140, had a series of visions about 112 Popes from Celestine III (elected 1130) until the final Pope who is described in his list as ‘Petrus Romanus’
The Benedictine historian Arnold Wion was the first person to mention these prophecies in his book Lignum Vitae, published in 1559. Saint Malachy’s prophesies were again published in 1969 by Colin Smythe Ltd. in England, with the title “Prophecies of St. Malachy and St. Columbkille.” In 1973, Tan Books in the United States republished the book (authored by Peter Bander), with the title “Prophecies of Saint Malachy”. These prophecies are short, but the succession of pontiffs has proved St. Malachy’s prophecies to be accurate. This brief presentation focuses on the last two Popes of the Catholic Church who are identified in St. Malachy’s list. 1 Corinthians 10:32 has nothing to do with what you said. Paul wasn’t addressing 3 groups of people. He was addressing the church in Corinth, telling them to do things for the glory of God and to not be an offense to anyone in order to not be a hindrance in leading people to salvation in Christ. You have a twisted view of Scripture, especially when it comes to your “departure” theory.
Zach, Paul addresses 3 groups of people in that scripture. You can be either a Jew or Gentile during this dispensation, and once you are born again, you become a New Creature. The Body of Christ (neither Jew nor Gentile in Christ). It was a mystery revealed only to Paul, and Paul was also given the mystery of the Catching Away of the Body, and after the Departure only 2 Groups remain. The 70 Weeks where determined against the Jewish people and the city of Jerusalem, Daniel 9:24-27, and an Unbelieving Gentile world who comes to make an attempt to erase the name of Israel as a nation that her name be no more in remembrance. If my understanding is correct everytime it is used it refers to the Nation of Israel, except in Galatians. That particular scripture is debated and divided among scholars. Zach, Since you are fond of Paul. Paul speaks of “Dispensations” I believe 4 times in scripture. He makes it clear that the Lord blinded them (Jews) for the Gentiles sake until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. He has set them aside for a season. During this “Dispensation” the Lord deals with the Jew and Gentile in the same manner 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 The Preaching of the Gospel, and after “the Departure” the Lord resumes his dealings with Israel from a National stand point. During the 7 years the Gospel of the Kingdom is preached. Why because the King is Coming!!! If you are going to have a Kingdom you must have a King. Israel is in the process of becoming the Head of the Nations, but they will have to go through the Time of Jacob’s Troubles, Daniel’s 70th, the Tribulation period. Israel, the nation state is not in the process of becoming the Head of the Nations, not with God’s help anyway. With Satan’s help, yes. But God will not allow it. True Israel, which includes Jews and Gentiles, who have put their trust in Christ, will be the “holy nation” and the “royal priesthood” that Christ will rule with when He returns.
I really wasn’t originally completely in agreement that the new Pope Francis met the Malachy Prophesy for the Last Pope. The fact that he was “Francesco di Pietro (Peter) di Bernardone” which translates to ‘ Francis of or from Peter of or from Bernadone”. Certainly his father was Peter, but at first I thought it a bit of a stretch to conclude that the new Pope Francis was qualified him as Peter.
That was until I realized that this actually parallels the way Jesus Christ himself is referred to in the Bible! He is called “Son of God,” the “Son of Man.” Jesus is the “Son of God” because He was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35), who is God. Jesus being the Son of God, means that Jesus is God.
That means that Pope Francis does in fact meet the prophesy in a rather striking way!
